In the United Kingdom, Kinder+Sport continues to grow every year. The flagship project is + Sport Move & Learn, a national school programme for children aged 9-10, which prioritises areas with the lowest levels of childhood activity. Developed in partnership with the Football League Trust in England and its counterparts in Scotland and Ireland, this quality initiative is delivered over the course of six weeks. Children spend 45 minutes in the classroom learning about the body, nutrition and the importance of exercise, then 45 minutes enjoying physical exercise in the form of football, dodgeball or handball. In 2015/16, + Sport Move & Learn was delivered in 450 schools, 500% up on its pilot year, reaching families through homework tasks and match days.
In addition, the UK have run two sponsorships which reach children across the country. The Kids & Girls Cup is a national competition which enabled Kinder + Sport to reach 10,000 children in 2015-2016. Its final gave children the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play at Wembley stadium. Moreover, the national Kinder + Sport Futsal Cup and Kinder + Sport Challenge Cup gives teenagers the chance to enjoy a new sport loved by footballers worldwide, and reached 4,500 teenagers in 2015/16.
