In 2015, Kinder+Sport was launched in The Netherlands as a partner of the Dutch Week of Sport, a national program by the Dutch Olympic Committee (NOC*NSF) to promote an active lifestyle at all ages, with over 600,000 people (most of which children) involved after 10 years. The event has inspired the European Week of Sport. To bring the partnership to a new level, Kinder+Sport Netherlands and NOC*NSF launched the ‘Joy of Moving' plan during the Week of Sport in September. The plan is based on two pillars: knowledge and fun. One of the key drivers is to leverage our own science-based Joy of Moving method. To facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences between the Netherlands and Italy, a delegation of key Dutch personalities from science, education and sports visited Alba in November. The participants were impressed by Ferrero's strong commitment to get children to be more active, and by the approach Kinder+Sport has developed to make this happen.
The next step is a return visit to The Netherlands to share the Dutch approach with the Kinder+Sport global team, in schools and outside, to get children moving and learn how the organisations collaborate.
